About this course
This is for clinicians who see substance use in their caseloads. It covers person-first language, a short look at the brain science, and the DSM-5-TR criteria for substance use disorders; screening with the AUDIT, DAST-10, and CRAFFT and the SBIRT model; motivational interviewing and the stages of change; co-occurring disorders, harm reduction, and overdose prevention; an overview of medications for alcohol, opioid, and tobacco use disorders so you can inform and refer well; family impact, CRAFT, and relapse prevention; and the ASAM Criteria, when to refer to a higher level of care, and confidentiality, including the federal 42 CFR Part 2 rule. A composite case follows one client from screening to ongoing care. Included in the $69 bundle, or sold on its own.
